Dr. Shannon Snow

Doctor of Chiropractic (DC)

Dr Shannon Snow thrives on positive energy and loves being surrounded by people who push themselves toward a healthy lifestyle. He wants to help people reach their goals in whatever capacity he can. Whether this means you want to ﬁnish a triathlon or become a recreational enthusiast, he is ready to get you on track.

Dr Shannon specializes in exercise rehabilitation, biomechanical analysis, and corrective exercise. He has worked with a broad range of clients, from UFC ﬁghters and elite downhill mountain bikers to weekend warriors and computer engineers. Each and every one of Dr Shannon’s patients receives a custom plan to meet their exact needs. His goal is to get his patients feeling and moving better quickly so they can return to the activities they love.

Dr Snow earned a Bachelors in Physical Education (BPE) with a focus in Sport Performance prior to receiving a Doctorate in Chiropractic (DC). He maintains a full body certiﬁcation in Active Release Technique (ART), is Graston Technique certiﬁed, and has completed courses for various types of Kinesiology Tape procedures, including RockTape. Additionally, he has advanced certiﬁcation in Selective Functional Movement Assessment (SFMA) and currently on route to being a board certiﬁed rehabilitation specialist. This will enhance his knowledge and abilities to keep his clients moving efﬁciently and safely.

Dr Shannon has a passion for endurance sports and has spent the last ten years competing in marathons, adventure racing, road races, mountain biking, climbing, and soccer.

Dr. Brigitte Carlyle

Doctor of Chiropractic (DC)

Born and raised in rainy Vancouver, Dr. Carlyle grew up watching hockey and trying her hand at every sport she could in between dance classes. At a very young age she became interested in medicine, the human body, and how it all works and functioned. She had big dreams of becoming a world-renowned orthopaedic surgeon or neurologist. However, after her father sustained major injuries in a freak accident that hospitalized him for the better part of a year, she realized that putting a body back together was a lot easier than putting a life back together.

It was then that she realized that her calling wasn’t to mend bones, but to help in what came next. She wanted to put function back in dysfunctional bodies; to help people live a life with less pain. Switching her focus to the rehabilitative side of medicine, Brigitte took off to sunny California to pursue her doctorate in chiropractic at Palmer College of Chiropractic West. Here she honed her skills and developed a love for sports therapy, movement-based medicine, and a more holistic lifestyle.

She is a strong believer in treating people over illness, and personalizing care in a way that makes people not only hopeful, but excited about healing and achieving their goals.

Although Brigitte’s dance career may be over, she tires to fill the void by spending as much time on the tennis courts, in the gym, and at the golf course as possible. She loves any opportunity to get involved in the community and loves working not only with athletes, but with people that just want to feel good and move better. She sees musculoskeletal health as an intricate balance between muscles, joints, and stability and thus addresses all three when she treats her patients.

From olympic lifters to office workers, Dr. Carlyle loves tackling new challenges and helping people achieve their health goals.

Dr. Matt Ward

Doctor of Chiropractic (DC)

While completing his Bachelors of Kinesiology at UBC, Dr. Matthew Ward was active in collegiate golf, varsity track and field, the 2014 and 2015 Crossfit regionals competitions, as well as working as a Strength and Conditioning Specialist in many different settings from the steep mountains of BC as a Rappel Forest Firefighter to a gym with many different populations including professional athletes and weekend warriors.

Dr. Ward completed his Doctorate in Chiropractic at the University of Western States in Portland. He is anything but your ordinary run-of-the-mill chiropractor. After some major injuries, he was searching for what seemed like a missing link to get him back to top form and found that it was a combined approach from many different ideologies that made the biggest impact. It was this experience that inspired him to take over 30 continuing education courses during chiropractic school. It was Dr. Ward’s goal to put as many tools in the toolbox as possible so no matter who he encounters, that his patients gets the best care possible to get them pain free and moving optimally. A few of his trainings include: Mackenzie, Dynamic Neuromuscular Stabilization, Mulligan, FMS, SFMA, IASTM, and Blood Flow Restriction.

Dr. Ward’s passion for golf led him to receive certification by the Titleist Performance Institute, which has enhanced his work with multiple country clubs, golf pros, professional golfers and many regular golfers with general goals such as breaking 90 and finding some consistency.

Each of you as patients and athletes require a different approach regardless of if you want to get out of pain, improve your swing, improve overall performance, or improve day to day tasks such as carrying your groceries or putting your socks on while standing. Your goals are the most important thing and Dr. Matt will design an individual plan to achieve them.

Dr. Emily Nicol

Doctor of Chiropractic (DC)

Dr. Emily Nicol was born and raised in Kelowna and moved to Victoria after high school and graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry and Environmental Studies at University of Victoria. Although she loved learning about sciences and environmental conservation, she quickly knew working directly with others was her aspiration.

Concurrently, Dr. Emily competed on the UVic varsity golf team where she had the privilege to compete nationally and internationally, and was the women’s team captain in her final year. To achieve her aspiration, she moved to Portland, OR to complete a Bachelor of Science degree in Human Biology, and Doctorate of Chiropractic, where she graduated cum laude.

Dr. Emily uses an evidence-based, diversified approach to care that includes Manual therapy, Instrument Assisted Soft Tissue Therapy, Active Release Technique, and Activator method. She is also Webster certified to provide prenatal care, and enjoys working with pediatric patients.

Dr. Emily believes chiropractic is not just about treating one condition but wellness and a healthy lifestyle for the entire body. Relocating back to Kelowna has allowed her to hone in on her skills professionally, volunteer within the community such as being an assistant coach for the UBCO women’s golf team, but of course, also be a weekend warrior for many seasonal sports.

Dr. Nathan Christensen

Doctor of Chiropractic (DC)

Dr. Nate Christensen is a dedicated chiropractor aiming to help you live pain-free and achieve long-term wellness. He identifies the root cause of discomfort to eliminate pain and build strength, preventing future issues. Using evidence-based therapies, he provides personalized care to improve mobility and quality of life. Inspired by the transformative treatment his mother received for chronic low back pain, he emphasizes both immediate relief and sustainable solutions.

Dr. Christensen tailors his treatments to everyone, from high-performance athletes to the general public. As a former junior hockey player, he uses his experience and expertise to treat athletes in hockey, golf, jiu-jitsu, soccer and many more. His approach focuses on optimizing performance, recovery, and function for all activity levels.

Dr. Christensen completed his undergraduate studies in Kelowna and graduated with a Bachelor of Science (Human Biology) and a Doctor of Chiropractic degree from the University of Western States in Portland, Oregon. Dedicated to advancing his expertise, he has completed specialized training in Dynamic Neuromuscular Stabilization (DNS), Active Release Technique (ART), sports rehabilitation, and soft tissue techniques.

Megan Stone

Physiotherapist, MScPT

Megan and her family moved to Kelowna from Edmonton AB two years ago and are thoroughly enjoying the outdoors and the sunshine. Megan graduated with her Masters in Physical Therapy from the University of Alberta in 2009. Since then she has completed advanced training in Spinal and Peripheral Manipulative Physiotherapy. She is also certified in Acupuncture, Dry Needling and Advanced Vestibular Rehabilitation. Megan uses an integrated approach with her treatment involving manual therapy, dry needling, and exercise in order to help her patients recover as soon as possible. Megan enjoys working with people of all ages, with her specialty being with neck and back injuries. She also loves working with pediatrics with a special interest in Developmental Coordination Disorder as her previous job experience involved working with preschool aged children. She also has years of experience working with a variety of sports related injuries and post surgical injuries. Megan is also certified in treating Pelvic Health dysfunction. As a pelvic health therapist she can treat symptoms of incontinence, prolapse, pelvic pain, sexual pain and anorectal disorders, but she has a particular passion for prenatal and postpartum care. When she is not spending time with her family, she enjoys playing golf and softball with friends

Anna Coulthard

Physiotherapist, MPT, BPhEd

Anna is originally from New Zealand but came to Canada in 2016 to explore the great outdoors Western Canada has to offer. She completed a Bachelor of physical education majoring in exercise prescription in New Zealand before heading to the Gold Coast of Australia to complete a Master of Physiotherapy. Anna is passionate about expanding her practical knowledge base and has completed courses in Concussion Rehab, managements of tendinopathies, management of the Fitness Athlete and has completed her dry needling certification.

Anna has a passion for keeping people active and working with clients to ensure they can maintain an active and healthy lifestyle. She has worked with clients all across the spectrum from competitive athletes, to weekend warriors, to those that are just trying to maintain function in their day-day life.

Anna uses a combination of hands-on techniques like soft tissue massage, manual therapy, cupping and dry needling in addition to developing patient specific exercise programs to help clients to recover faster and stronger.

Jordan Ruder

Physiotherapist

Jordan is a Physical Therapist who has enjoyed practising in the musculoskeletal/outpatient field for over 15 years. Jordan graduated with his degree in Physical Therapy with Distinction from the University of Saskatchewan in 2008. For the first seven years of his career, Jordan worked in Saskatchewan within a multidisciplinary rehabilitation facility alongside physicians, psychologists, kinesiologists and orthopaedic surgeons treating patients with a variety of sports, work and motor vehicle accident related injuries. Jordan made the move West to the sun-kissed Okanagan in 2016 where he has continued his work in private practice. Jordan is thrilled to be joining the VALEO HEALTH Team!

Jordan has always demonstrated a strong commitment to professional post-graduate education, clinical development and evidence based practice. In 2014, Jordan completed the highest level of post-graduate training in manual therapy. Holding this Advanced Diploma of Manual and Manipulative Physical Therapy through the Canadian Orthopaedic Division has earned Jordan status as a Fellow of the Canadian Academy of Manipulative Physical Therapists (FCAMPT). Furthermore, Jordan is credentialed to treat neuropathic conditions using Gunn Dry Needling Intramuscular Stimulation (CGIMS), earning this certification through the University of British Columbia. Jordan has been a member of the Canadian Physiotherapy Association for the past 15 years.

Jordan’s treatment approach utilizes manual therapy in the form of mobilization or manipulation of the spine and peripheral joints to maximize joint biomechanics, Intramuscular Stimulation Needling (IMS) when appropriate, a significant emphasis on strength training as well as individualized education to assist patients in achieving their athletic or functional goals.

When away from the clinic, Jordan enjoys playing golf, volleyball, pickle ball and hockey, travelling the world with his young family and of course jamming a tune or two on one of his favorite guitars.

Matthew Chin

Physiotherapist

Matthew grew up in Montreal, QC, where he obtained a Bachelor of Science with Distinction in Exercise Science at Concordia University, and became a Certified Strength & Conditioning Specialist with the National Strength & Conditioning Association. He went on to graduate from McGill University with a Masters of Physiotherapy, and worked in Montreal before moving to Kelowna in the summer of 2021. Matthew is a physiotherapist with a comprehensive approach to optimizing patients. His knowledge and experience in physical conditioning strengthens his practice to guide patients throughout their entire rehab, back to sport and performing to their full potential. Matthew has a keen interest in running rehab and vestibular conditions, and is certified to dry needle. He will happily work with you in English or French.

As Matthew values the importance of professional development, he attends a variety of continuing education courses to stay abreast with the latest research and continuously improve his patient care. Additionally, he likes to contribute to the development of the profession through mentorship of physiotherapy residents, and kinesiology & rehab assistant students, and has guest lectured at McGill in their Masters level course.

Since moving to Kelowna, Matt has taken advantage of the outdoor activities that the Okanagan has to offer. In the winter he enjoys backcountry ski touring, and in the summer hiking with his partner Kelsey in the great outdoors.

Allie Bruce-Fuoco

Physiotherapist, MPT BScHK

Allie grew up in Ottawa, ON, where she completed her Honours Bachelor of Health Science in Human Kinetics at the University of Ottawa in 2020. Originally born in Chilliwack, BC, she always felt a pull back to the West Coast and returned to complete her Master’s in Physical Therapy at the University of British Columbia in 2023 through their Northern cohort program in Prince George.

Allie is passionate about providing evidence-based, individualized care. She designs treatment plans that combine manual therapy, targeted exercise, and education to support recovery and long-term wellness. She also has advanced training in pelvic health therapy, treating people of all genders with conditions such as incontinence and pelvic pain.

Her background as a competitive Highland dancer has shaped her approach to physical activity and rehabilitation. Allie is a two-time national champion, a top-three finisher at the World Championships, and a certified dance instructor. Her lifelong dedication to movement has given her a deep appreciation for the role that physical activity plays in both performance and recovery.

Outside of the clinic, Allie enjoys spending time outdoors. Whether she’s hiking mountain trails, running, paddle boarding, camping, or keeping up with her competitive dance career, she thrives on staying active and embracing new challenges.

Ciera Knight

Manual Osteopathic Practitioner

Ciera brings a wealth of experience and passion to her practice as a Manual Osteopathic Practitioner. With a 4th-degree black belt in Taekwondo and over a decade of competitive experience across North America, including Nationals, the US Open, and Can Ams, Ciera has honed not only her physical skills but also her understanding of the human body’s mechanics. Her background as a personal trainer for 10 years and owner of two successful Taekwondo schools in Alberta prior to moving to Kelowna further emphasizes her dedication to health and wellness.
Ciera graduated from the National Academy of Osteopathy and holds a Bachelor of Science in Osteopathy. She combines a strong educational foundation with hands- on experience to provide personalized care to every patient. Her approach is rooted in helping others achieve optimal health, whether that’s recovering from an injury,improving mobility, or simply leading a more active lifestyle.

Outside the clinic, Ciera is an avid adventurer with a deep love for the mountains. Alongside her partner, Ben, she spends her free time hiking, camping, and hunting. Ciera has already summited Aconcagua and attempted Everest. With a goal to complete the 7 Summits and 2 Poles, she is on a journey toward the Explorers Grand Slam.

Ciera is dedicated to helping her patients live pain-free and active lives, blending her diverse skill set and passion for movement into every treatment. She believes in not just treating the symptoms but addressing the root causes to ensure long -term wellness.

Behn Johnstone

Registered Massage Therapist (RMT)

Behn has a passion for client education to help others learn to care for themselves. Since being treated for injuries by chiropractors, physiotherapists and RMTs, he’s developed an interest in the human body and how we as humans are able to help our bodies’ innate ability to heal themselves.

His main goals are to keep people moving safely and effectively while reducing pain from activity or injury to help the body get back to its ideal functioning state.

If he isn’t in the clinic, he can be found hiking, at the spin studio, the gym, or the beach. He looks forward to helping you learn how you can integrate physical activity into your life and keep you in motion doing what you love!

Bronwen Dale

Registered Massage Therapist (RMT)

Bronwen Dale graduated from the Registered Massage Therapy program at Vancouver Career College, Kelowna campus, in 2019. Since finishing school, she has been dedicating herself to help clients continue leading an active life by helping to minimize pain and reduce injury.

Bronwen is motivated to ensure each client is supported with personalized treatment plans. She takes time to develop an understanding of each body’s needs and preferences to ensure treatments will be ideal for every client while pulling from a variety of techniques such as myofascial release, trigger point therapy, Swedish massage, and muscle energy techniques. Having personally utilized massage therapy, Bronwen places importance on treatment for current injuries but additionally sees it as an opportunity to aid in injury prevention.

As an Okanagan local, she enjoys remaining active herself. Participating in recreational soccer, races, and hiking throughout the region. Bronwen understands the demands that leading an active lifestyle can place on one’s body. Her goal is to be a resource for clients to be able to lead an active life while fostering a healthy body through her treatments and homecare plans.

Tosh Brinker

Registered Massage Therapist (RMT)

Tosh is a graduate of the Okanagan Valley College of Massage Therapy program, who completed his RMT education and registration in 2021. Throughout his schooling and his practice, he can be known for his great understanding of human anatomy and application of clinical assessment which he uses to work together with his patients. Tosh is passionate about helping his patients achieve their goals whether it is to restore optimal function and prevent injury, promote stress reduction, or improve body and kinesthetic awareness.

Within treatment, you can expect patient-centred care which initially will include a short interview, general postural assessment, range of motion testing and appropriate orthopedic testing to have a clear picture of the patient’s limitations and course of pain. Tosh uses a blend of evidence-based, therapeutic techniques including myofascial release, swedish massage, neuromuscular therapy, trigger point therapy, joint mobilizations, muscle energy, active and passive release techniques. Reassessment and post-assessment is incorporated into treatments when necessary to evaluate the progression of the patient’s recovery. Patient’s can also expect an effective remedial home care plan which will include relevant strengthening or stretching exercises or hydrotherapy recommendations that will prolong the benefits of their treatments and assist with rehabilitation, working towards the patient’s health goals.

Tosh enjoys putting time into his career but outside of the treatment room, he likes staying active by weight training and playing sports such as basketball, soccer and golf, and getting outdoors to enjoy skiing, biking, and hiking.

Emma Fernandes

Registered Massage Therapist (RMT) / Medical Aesthetician

Emma graduated from the Vancouver Career College Massage Therapy Program in Kelowna. Being born and raised in Osoyoos BC she is happy to be staying in the Okanagan and calling Kelowna home.

After competitively dancing for over 10 years, Emma learnt the importance of self-care and preventive medicine which inspired her career in registered massage therapy.

Emma’s goal with her patients is to be able to provide a relaxing, effective treatment that allows them to continue the activities they love. Emma ensures to create a unique treatment plan that is tailored to each of her clients’ goals. During treatment, Emma utilizes a variety of techniques such as Swedish massage, myofascial release, trigger point therapy and hydrotherapy.

When Emma is not at the clinic you can find her at the ski hill, spin studio, and exploring all the Okanagan has to offer.

Cayli Menzies

Registered Massage Therapist (RMT)

Cayli moved to Kelowna from Victoria after completing her program at WCCMT in 2019. She has worked alongside professional athletes, geriatrics, pregnancy and mental health patients. She’s experienced in many techniques for fascial restrictions and neuromuscular release for musculoskeletal injuries. She adjusts each treatment to meet clients’ needs with a mixture of relaxation to deep pressure, rehabilitative techniques and stretching treatments. She’s passionate about working individually with each patient to determine the best treatment for their therapeutic goals. Outside of the clinic she enjoys crochet projects, keeping an active lifestyle and spending time cuddling up to her 2 kitties.

Persis Meisters

Kinesiologist

Persis Meisters is a highly experienced Kinesiologist and Nutrition Coach with a passion for providing evidence-based care and guidance to her clients.

With over 10 years of experience in the field of movement and exercise, Persis has worked with a diverse range of clientele, including those seeking general fitness, ICBC rehabilitation, injury rehabilitation, athletic strength and conditioning, and senior-specific training.

Persis specializes in working on establishing a strong foundation of fundamentals, which is crucial for success in the long term. Her training approach is tailored to each client’s individual needs and goals, providing personalized care and guidance every step of the way.

Persis has collaborated with several local organizations, such as the Okanagan Gymnastics Centre, Okanagan Sun Football Team, Kelowna Elite Tennis Youth Program, West Kelowna’s Walk and Talk Seniors Program, and more.

She obtained her Bachelor of Kinesiology from the University of Manitoba in 2014, and is registered with the BC Association of Kinesiologists, in addition to holding certifications in RockTape, RockBlades, Precision Nutrition Coaching, and Functional Movement Screening. Persis also offers additional skills like Shockwave Therapy, Blood Flow Restriction Training (BFR), and Iron Neck Rehabilitation.

When not working with clients, Persis can be found indulging in her love for the great outdoors, including activities like hiking, fishing, hunting, snowmobiling, gardening, snowboarding, and tending to her beautiful 10-acre property.

Tena Irwin

Kinesiologist

Tena completed her Bachelor of Human Kinetics at the University of British Columbia Okanagan in 2024. As a lifelong athlete – soccer, snowboarding, mountain biking, and more – she is passionate about helping others build strength, mobility, and confidence in their movement!

Whether you are navigating an injury, managing a chronic condition, or chasing performance, Tena can work with you on an exercise program to meet your goals.

Tena has experience working with a wide range of populations, including older adults, children with genetic or neurological conditions, and clients navigating ICBC-related rehabilitation. She is a registered member of the British Columbia Association of Kinesiologists (BCAK) and holds certification in the Concussion Awareness Training Tool (CATT).

Outside of the clinic, Tena spends her time adventuring outdoors with her partner Mack—or relaxing at home with her sleepy dog Maya, who is much more interested in couch naps than long walks!

Breanna Snow

She is well-versed in various cosmetic procedures, including chemical peels, micro-needling, and laser therapies, helping patients attain rejuvenated, radiant skin.

Breanna is originally from Calgary, AB but after many years and 2 kids, she’s happy to call Kelowna home. When she’s not at the clinic you can often find her out for a run, hiking or playing at the beach with her littles.

Dr. Hannah Duyvewaardt, CCFP-EM, is a highly skilled medical professional with extensive training and experience in both emergency medicine and medical aesthetics. Currently practicing at Kelowna General Hospital’s Emergency Department, Dr. Duyvewaardt is renowned for her comprehensive approach to patient care and her dedication to advancing wellness through innovative treatments.

Dr. Duyvewaardt completed her Family Medicine training at the University of British Columbia (UBC) and further specialized in Emergency Medicine at the University of Calgary. Her diverse background in these fields has honed her ability to address complex medical issues with precision and compassion.

Driven by a passion for optimizing individual health, wellness, and appearance, Dr. Duyvewaardt pursued advanced training with leading plastic surgeons and dermatologists. She has since specialized in aesthetic treatments, including neuromodulators and dermal fillers. Her expertise in these areas allows her to offer personalized solutions that enhance both the appearance and overall well-being of her patients.

In addition to her clinical work, Dr. Duyvewaardt serves as a Clinical Instructor with the UBC Faculty of Medicine, where she focuses on Ultrasound and Simulation. This role underscores her commitment to education and her dedication to advancing the field through both practice and teaching.
